B & J Racing Engines are
renowned for their tuning of the Chevrolet LS range of V8 engines...
The LS engine offers the perfect basis for a large capacity racing engine, or indeed for a performance road car or kit-car engine such as the popular Cobra replica.
The advantage of the LS1 (for example) is, there is a ready supply, it is light, possibly the lightest stock V8 in production (being manufactured from aluminium), and is capable of producing substantial power and torque without compromising reliability...
...for example, the LS1's B & J supply to
British GT and Belcar GT team, Xero Competition, produce around 500bhp and 450lb/ft of Torque. Xero's cars compete in long-distance races ranging from 1 hour to 4 hours or more... B & J's engines have proved extremely reliable with no engine failures and very little engine maintenance required.
B & J are currently exploring the potential of the latest generation of the engine, the LS7 which comes as standard in the Corvette C6 ZO6. The 7 Litre LS7 produces 505 bhp in standard road specification in the Corvette; B & J are confident they can extract over 700 reliable bhp from it.
